On Sunday evening, January 31st, I met the other travelers at dinner.
We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel on Picadilly Street in London. We
flew out the next morning from the small Luton airport at Harrod’s
Terminal to Togo. Seven hours later we landed at the king’s family
airport in Lome and were greated at the Mercure Hotel by these
wonderful dancers. They are performing a courting dance from a
southern Togo village. A few mosquitoes were hanging around. Glad I
was Deeted and taking my malarial pills.

I was sitting in my hotel lobby at Bailey’s on Gloucester in London. All of a sudden a Chinese dragon apppeared at the door with drums beating a huge crowd of people behind him. He danced around and jumped on the reception table to “eat” the lettuce and tangerines that were arranged for him. He sprayed lettuce all over the room and apparently pockets the tip cash that the General Manager left under the letttuce. Happy Chinese New Year!
