Ugh! I may have lost my ability to forward images when I was in Oman.
The sultan blocks that capacity in the country. Here should be a
picture of our guide in Yangon. He was so funny when you could
understand his 12 word vocabulary in English. Silver teeth. Big smile.

As I land in Yangon international airport I have been watching a film
about the oppression and murder of monks who tried to inforce a regime
change from the military junta in 2007. I have been warned to not talk
about politics with our guides.

Off to Yangon, Myranmar which is about 1.5 hours north by air. Lots of
rivers and gold pagoda can been seen from the air.

These ladies cook hoppers which are crepes with an egg fried in a
small wok-sized pan. Then smothers with spicy curry.

Ferrel dogs are everywhere . They lay around in the middle of the
roads waiting for food scraps. Every dog looks like every other Asian
ferrel dog.

Three water monitors had been coaxed out of a creek next to the road
with pieces of fish to “dance” for passing tour buses. Water monitors
are helpful to farmers because they eat rodents and insects. They look
like geckoes the size of crocodile s.

There are about 1500 domestic elephants and 5000 wild elephants left
on the island . They cause so much damage to farmers’ crops that the
herd of 40,000
existing before the recent war have been shot by farmers and others.
They can’t be stopped if they discover a sugar cane field!

This cobra charmer was holding onto 2 snakes at the other end of the
platform. One started to head for the crowd and he grabbed its tail.
